Biography

Prof Eduardo Miranda studied Music Technology at the University of York and a PhD on the topic of Music with Artificial Intelligence from the University of Edinburgh. Currently, he is Professor in Computer Music at Plymouth University where he heads the Interdisciplinary Centre for Computer Music Research. Prof Miranda is one of the pioneers of the emerging field of Music Neurotechnology. He has published over 150 research papers and his music has been commissioned, performed and broadcasted worldwide by renowned musicians and ensembles such as BBC Concert Orchestra and Scottish Chamber Orchestra. He has held academic positions at institutions in Glasgow, Paris,Barcelona and Berlin, and worked for a number of years at Sony Labs Paris/Tokyo as a research scientist in the fields of AI, speech and evolution of language.
