Biography

Dr. Ghosh is involved in regular agricultural research and developmental services since last 25 years at India’s apex research organization, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Government of India. He is well known for his experiences on national and international agriculture with special emphasis on developing climate smart crop production technologies. He joined the Agricultural Research Services in Indian Council of Agricultural Research (Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Government of India) as a Scientist in 1992. Presently, he is actively involved in research, teaching and extension activities in the premier agricultural institution of the country, Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, since 2016. Prior to that, he was involved in conducting research on the development of modern rice varieties and crop management under rainfed and irrigated ecology for around 25 years in the National Rice Research Institute (formerly CRRI), Cuttack, India. All through his carrier, as the group leader/principal investigator, he has been involved in the planning, management, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of several institutional and inter-institutional ‘On-station’ research and ‘On-farm’ out-reach research and extension programs. Some modern special rice varieties along with some tangible and vibrant production technologies have been developed out of his research efforts. In addition, research information generated thereby he has published in more than 180 publications in national and international journals of repute along with other different publications.
