Biography

Douglas J. Gould, Ph.D., Professor of Neuroscience and Vice Chair, Department of Biomedical Sciences at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.
Dr. Gould joined the OUWB faculty in July 2013 as a tenured Professor. He is Vice Chair of the Department of Biomedical Sciences. He joins OUWB from The Ohio State University College of Medicine, where he was a Professor and the Director of the Division of Anatomy for six years. Before that Dr. Gould was an Associate Professor at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine for nine years. His scholarly endeavors have focused on the design, creation, implementation and evaluation of learning tools for the modern medical student; he has secured over one-million dollar to fund his medical education research efforts. Dr. Gould has published: 18 peer-reviewed manuscripts; four texts - Clinical Neuroanatomy for your Pocket (Gould), Fix’s Neuroanatomy – Board Review Series 5th Ed. (Gould), Clinical Anatomy for your Pocket (Gould), and Sidman’s Neuroanatomy: A Programmed Text (Gould and Brueckner); seven ancillary learning tools, including Clinical Anatomy flashcards 1st and 2nd Ed. (Gould) and Dynamic Human Anatomy – DVD (Dalley and Gould); ten peer-reviewed multimedia resources; and some 48 abstracts.
