Dimitrios Kouroupis (born 1982), obtained his biology degree in 2006 (Aristotle University of Thessalonica, GR), his MSc in Biosciences degree in 2007 (University of Leeds, UK) and his PhD in Regenerative Medicine in 2012 (University of Leeds, UK). Currently, he is the author of 20 original research articles and book chapters with more than 150 international citations and has participated with oral and poster presentations in more than 20 international conferences with respect to tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. His academic career involves scientific work as a postdoctoral associate of the Institute of Technology and Research FORTH/IMBB in Ioannina, GR. Moreover, he has invested considerable effort in strategies for effective isolation of Stem cells to achieve off-the shelf painless and hazard-free regenerative medicine products.
His scientific interests involves: i) Stem cell musculoskeletal therapy and Bone tissue engineering, ii) Stem cell’s immunomodulatory and immunosuppressive effects to treat immunological disorders and iii) Stem cells to treat cardiac and neuroral disorders (such as Heart infarction, Parkinson’s disease and Multiple sclerosis).
