Biography

Dr Abhishek Purkayasthawas graduated graduated from (Zoology, Botany, Chemistry) [Agra University, India] and MBBS [Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, India] and DNB Radiation Oncology [Army Hospital Research and Referral, New Delhi, India]. He is an editor of various journal like, Oman Medical Journal (OMJ), Journal of Advances in Oncology etc. He is specialist of Radiation Oncology in Command Hospital (Southern Command) Pune ( INDIA).

Research Interest

My special areas of interest include interstitial and intraluminal brachytherapy. I have done my research paper on the role of neoadjuvant concurrent chemo-radiotherapy (NACCRT) vs neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) followed by surgery in carcinoma esophagus cases. Research work has also been done on GI malignancies. Presently I am working on a research project in low-level laser therapy in the prevention and treatment of radiation-induced oral mucositis in head and neck cancer patients.
