Biography

I studied for my first degree in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in China, and had worked as a paediatrician for 10 years and received various honours and awards before I left my clinical practice for pursuing further studies in the UK. Following my study for a master’s degree in Health Technology Assessment at the University of Birmingham, I have worked as a researcher undertaking systematic reviews, rapid evidence reviews and health technology assessments for both regional and national organisations, including the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), on a wide range of topics ranging from pharmaceuticals, interventional procedures, public health and medical technologies. Currently I am a research fellow at the Birmingham & Brunel Consortium External Assessment Centre (BBC EAC) for the Medical Technologies Evaluation Programme (MTEP) at NICE.
