Dr. Jason Deng is an Early Career Research Fellow awarded by the National Health and Medical Research Council, Australia in 2013. Since 2011, Jason has joined Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a postdoctoral researcher, working with Professor Paula Hammond at Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research. Jason received his PhD in biomedical sciences at the University of Queensland, Australia in 2011with distinction of Dean’s award in research excellence.
Jason’s research has been focusing on the interdisciplinary field of Nano-Biosciences: investigating the interactions of nanomaterials with biological systems, developing new type of cancer therapeutics using nanotechnology, and promoting translation of benchtop research to bedside medicine. His work involves nanomedicine, drug and siRNA delivery, combination therapeutics development, nanotoxicology, cell-based assay development for drug discovery, biomarker discovery and cancer diagnostics. Jason published as the first author in prestigious journals such as Nature Nanotechnology, ACS Nano, and Nanotoxicology; while his collaborative work has been published in Lancet, Advanced Materials, Advanced Healthcare Materials and Scientific Reports.
