Biography

Dr. Zhu is an Associate Professor and Director of Clinical Chemistry and Toxicology, Director of Postdoctoral Clinical Chemistry Fellowship Program at the Medical University of South Carolina. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Chemistry and a Fellow of the National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry. He completed postdoctoral fellowship in biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of Georgia and clinical chemistry and pharmacogenetics at the University of Louisville. He is the Commissioner of the Commission on Accreditation in Clinical Chemistry, member of the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute Consensus Committees on Clinical Chemistry and Toxicology/Immunology and Ligand Assay, and Board member of the AACC Proteomics Division.

Research Interest

Clinical Chemistry, toxicology, hemoglobinopathy, pharmacogenetics, proteomics, and clinical application of mass spectrometry.
