Biography

Dr LeRoith completed her PhD from Washington State University in 2005. She was honored with many grant supports for her researches. She is currently working as an Assistant Professor in Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine.She also provide clinical necropsy and biopsy support for the teaching hospital.  In addition to diagnostic duties, She provides gross and histopathology services for investigators using animal models of human disease. She has large number of publications to her credits.

Research Interest

Dr. LeRoith's research focuses on the immunopathogenesis of viral diseases, and how viruses modulate the immune system to cause disease using animal models.  She currently uses pigs as an animal model system to study how single strand RNA and circular DNA viruses stimulate regulatory T cells to cause local immune suppression and clinical disease.
