Professor Sorin Emilian Leucuţa had a long and prestigious didactic and scientific career in biopharmaceutical and pharmacokinetic formulation, preparation and evaluation of drugs, especially of those with controlled release and with targeted delivery. He was leader in the domain for a period of many decades and he is still working, at retirement, in the domain that made him famous, biopharmacy, interdisciplinary scientific domain of pharmaceutical technology and pharmacology. The major attraction for a university career that ensures the total freedom to choose the domain and subjects of research, offering the advantage to guide your preoccupations on a narrow but deep domain, with impact on their results and implications in medical and pharmaceutical practice, was justified and led to the fulfillment of a professional destiny superposed with the expectations of Romanian medical and pharmaceutical sciences in the domain, in the historic period when he performed his activity.
