Biography

Professor Yildirim is an Associate Professor at Whittier Law School, Costa Mesa, California. She joined the Whittier Law School faculty in 2005, following a year as Visiting Scholar at New York University’s Kevorkian Center for Near Eastern Studies. She holds a J.D. and an LLM from New York University School of Law, an MA in International Affairs from the George Washington University Elliot School, and a BA from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College. Professor Yildirim is the Chair of the AALS Islamic Law Section, and the past-chair of the Islamic Law Committee of the American Branch of the International Law Association. She is involved in grassroots civil rights organizations, and has served on the Legal Advisory Board for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, Southern California Branch and as a volunteer attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union- New Jersey.
