I received my Ph.D. degree in Agronomy (sub-area Molecular Biology) from University of Arkansas (USA) and worked on rice transformation as postdoctoral research scientist at CIRAD (Agricultural Research Centre for International Development), France. Currently, I work at Embrapa Rice and Beans, an Unit of Embrapa (Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation), leading and co-leading projects on the rice biotic and abiotic stresses. I have experience in the development and application of genomic tools based on reverse genetics and functional genomics for exploration and discovery of genes involved in resistance to rice blast and rice drought tolerance. I am a recipient of Embrapa research grants as principal investigator and co-investigator. My research interest involves understanding the molecular mechanism of rice and M. oryzae interaction. My research has also focused on the molecular aspects of rice drought tolerance and rice transformation for drought tolerance.I received my Ph.D. degree in Agronomy (sub-area Molecular Biology) from University of Arkansas (USA) and worked on rice transformation as postdoctoral research scientist at CIRAD (Agricultural Research Centre for International Development), France.
