Dr. Presley Wesseh earned his Ph.D. in Energy Economics from Xiamen University in China and currently works as a Research Fellow for his Alma Mater. His research has supported and facilitated Energy Policy designs for the Chinese government. In fact, he was member of a team that developed an energy strategy (the coal price to electricity tariff linkage mechanism came into effect in December 2012) for the 12th Five-Year Plan of the National Development and Reform Commission of China and the State Electricity Regulatory Commission. With expertise in Econometric Modeling, Computable General Equilibrium Modeling, and Real Options Analysis, his research covers various aspects of energy economics and energy policy including but not limited to: energy, economy, and environment; mitigation; climate change impacts and adaptation; as well as electricity markets and renewable energy resources. Several of his articles have been published in reputable peer-review journals.
