Biography

Dr. Peter C. Coyte is a national and international expert in the areas of health economics, health services evaluation, and health policy and planning.  His work has focused on assessments of health service finance, organization, and delivery. Peter was elected President of the Canadian Health Economic Research Association in 2002 and was instrumental in championing the evolution of that organization to form the Canadian Association for Health Services and Policy Research where he was its inaugural President.Peter was awarded a Health Services Chair in 2000 and he has been the Director of CIHR’s Strategic Research and Training Program in Health Care, Technology, and Place since 2002. Peter’s contributions to health services and policy research were recently recognized when he was awarded the Health Services Research Advancement Award in 2010.
