Biography

Professor Park is a Professor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering (since 1992) at Gyeongsang National University, Korea. He has been at the University since 1992 and was promoted to be a full professor in 2003. He served as a Deparment and School of Chairs from 3/1998-2/2000 and 01/2013-02/2015, respectively. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Materials Science & Engineering from Washington State University (1991), two M.S. degrees in Materials Science & Engineering from University of Utah (1987), and in Polymer Engineering from Pusan National University, Korea (1984), and a B.S. degree in Materials Science & Engineering from Pusan National University (1979). He was a Post-doctorial fellow at Cornell University (2/1992-8/1992) until he became an Assistant Professor at GNU. He was a Visiting Professor (9/2004-11/2006) and currently Adjunct Professor since 12/2006 at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Utah. He served in the Korean Army at DMZ as 1st Lieutenant (Korean ROTC 17), as Platoon Leader and Acting Company Command, 6th Infantry Division, from 1979-1981.
