Biography

Dr. Natalie Housel is a full tenured professor at Tennessee State University, where she has taught in the Doctoral Physical Therapy Program since 2006. She has her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Ithaca College, her Master of Science degree from Fairfield University and her Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Central Florida.  Dr. Housel is engaged in many service activities, including coordination of a student run  Aquifit Program for adults with arthritis, assistance at the Middle Tennessee Buddy Walk for Down Syndrome, implementation of Yearly Scoliosis Screenings, and the development and coordination of Yearly Seminars for Senior Citizens.

Research Interest

Her main areas of research include creation and implementation of a Reflective Critical Thinking Workshop for physical therapy students, creation of a diagnostic tool to assist with language variation problems during multiple choice testing,  the benefits of water aerobics, and strategies to help combat childhood obesity.
