Biography

Dr. Mirza Barjees Baig is working as a Professor of Agricultural Extension and Rural Society at the King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He received his education in both social and natural sciences from USA. He completed his Ph.D. in Extension for Natural Resource Management from the University of Idaho, Moscow, Idaho, USA. He earned his MS degree in International Agricultural Extension in 1992 from the Utah State University, Logan, Utah, USA and was placed on the "Roll of Honour". During his doctoral program, he was honored with “1995 Outstanding Graduate Student Award”.

Dr. Baig has published extensively in the national and international journals. He has also presented extension education and natural resource management extensively at various international conferences. Particularly issues like degradation of natural resources, deteriorating environment and their relationship with society/community are his areas of interest. He has attempted to develop strategies for conserving natural resources, promoting environment and developing sustainable communities through rural development programs
