Biography

I was born in Pisa 40 years ago. Pisa is also the city where I completed my study course and I still live with my wife and three children, aging between 6 and 8. I started studying psychiatry just after my degree in medicine, in 1999, under the supervision of Dr Maremmani at the Psychiatric Clinic of Pisa University run by professor GB Cassano. While working in the field of general psychiatry, I started acquiring experience in the diagnosis and treatment of addictive diseases, with special regard to the intermingling between psychiatric syndromes and substance use. I kept on working inside the clinic for two further years with a grant, and at the same time I started collaborating with the University of Rome (under the supervion of Prof. M Ceccanti), where I handled anticraving and psychiatric treatments for alcoholics, on until 2013. From 2003 to present I have been working as a private practitioner in different towns, and been teaching at univeristy maste class courses, update seminars and courses, apart from participanting in congressual events both in Italy and abroad.
