Biography
Dr. Maria Friedrichsen is currently holding a position as an Associate Professor at Linkoping University, Faculty of Health Sciences at Campus Norrkoping, and at Palliative Education and Research Centre in the County of Östergötland, Sweden. In 2003 she received “The fifth annual Milly Haagedoorne lecture” by EACE- European Association for Cancer Education. she is also invited as scientific expert for the National Board of Health and Welfare (Social styrelsen) that is a government agency in Sweden under the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs.
Research Interest
Dr. Maria Friedrichsen research area is palliative care in different contexts, where I have used qualitative methods of different kind. My specific interest is communication between patients, family members and different kind of health professionals in palliative care as well as existential aspects of death and dying and symptom management.
