Dr. Lawrence Camarda is a Associate Professor at the Orthopaedic and Traumatology Unit of the University of Palermo (Italy). He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Palermo in 2002. In 2006 he attended a fellowship in knee surgery at the Hospital Sacro Cuore in Verona. After his residency in Orthopaedic and Traumatology (2007), he received his PhD in Motor Sciences at the same University in 2011. In 2009 he gained a Research Fellowship at the Biomechanics Laboratory at the University of Minnesota (US). In 2015 he gained a Research Fellowship at the Flinders University (Australia). His main research areas of interest and expertise include lower limb biomechanics, ankle trauma, multiligament knee ligament reconstruction. From 2012 he coordinates the research activities of surgical fellows in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Palermo. During the past seven years he has led and completed many research projects most of which were funded by the University of Palermo. He is author of more than 30 peer review manuscripts and he actively participated at 62 National and International Orthopaedic meetings. He is an active member of the SIOT (Italian Society of Orthopaedic and Traumatology) SIGASCOT (Società Italiana di Chirurgia del Ginocchio, Artroscopia, Sport, Cartilagine e Tecnologie Ortopediche), SIA (Italian Society of Arthroscopy, Regional Delegate),SOTIMI (Società di Ortopedia e Traumatologia dell’Italia Meridionale e Insulare)
