Biography

Jiuzhou Song is currently being employed as an Associate Professor of Avian & Animal Science at University of Maryland. He pursued his research from China Agricultural University in Statistical Genetics and Genomics. He also held several academic positions in different institues prior to joining University of Maryland. His determination and quality of work is clearly visible in numerous awards and affiliations to his name e.g. The Excellence Prize of the Conference of CAMIS and SCMAI and affiliations like International Society for Animal Genetics to name a few. He has also authored various books pertaining to Animal Sciences and recent advancements. His long term goal is to use statistical genetics and computational epigenetic methods to study interaction between livestock genomes and environmental factors (such as virus infection and diet style) to improve animal health and performances.His research interest includes bioinformatics, statistical genomics, biopathway analysis and gene regulatory network.

Research Interest

My long-term goal is to use statistical genetics and computational epigenetic methods to study interaction between livestock genomes and environmental factors (such as virus infection and diet style) to improve animal health and performances. The current research interests are on bioinformatics, statistical genomics, biopathway analysis and gene regulatory network.
