Jackson is Professor of Biology at Florida Gulf Coast University He has received honors from the American Association for the Advancement of Science The American Ornithologistrsquo;s Union and the Explorerrsquo;s Club Jackson cohosted a weekly natureoriented television segment called Southern Outdoors on CBS and currently produces a daily segment called With the Wild Things on public radio He received BS 1965 in Zoology from Iowa State Universityand PhD 1970 in Zoology from University of Kansas He has authored about many Publications that include research articles

Avian and reptilian behavioral ecology; biogeography of invasive and endangered species; barrier island ecosystem ecology; forest ecology; conservation biology; history of ornithology.
