Biography

Jennifer Kim Plybon Penberthy, is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry in Department of Psychiatry & Neurobehavioral Sciences at University of Virginia School of Medicine, Charlottesville, VA, Director of Training and Chief, Center for Addiction Research and Education, Division of Neurobiology, Masters degree in Experimental Psychology from Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, NC in 1992. PhD in Clinical Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond VA in 1998. Fellowship in Medical Psychology from University of Virginia SOM, Charlottesville, VA 2000. Winner of the Funding Excellence in Science and Technology Award at UVA 2002. Elected to the Academy of Distinguished Educators at UVA SOM 2006. Serving as an editorial board member of reputed journals and reviewer in multiple journals.

Research Interest

Development of effective behavioral treatments that are individualized based upon environmental and behavioral characteristics. Assessment of mechanisms of action of behavioral treatments for psychiatric disorders and addictions
