Biography
Jayakrishnan is the founder and C.E.O of ASIMOV Robotics Pvt Ltd, a
company provides engineering products/solutions and consultancy in
the areas like robotic manipulation, simulation and control, machinevision,
training, virtual reality, and navigation applications. He is committed to high standards in every aspect of his business and believes in using the technology for the care, protection and benefit of mankind.
Apart from heading the operations, at ASIMOV Robotics, he is responsible for theconceptualization, research and development of the new interactive social-robot, ISRA (Intelligent Service Robot Assistant) enables autonomous mobile manipulation as well as human interaction through speech &gesture recognition. Programmable to perform guidance assistance, surveillance, security, advertisements and entertainment applications, ISRA has received tremendous media coverage and special appreciation from the Chief Minister of Kerala State during its launch on November 2012.
In addition to enhancing capabilities of ISRA, he is currently involved in the research and development of highly ruggedized and weather sealed robotic systems for defense and space applications.Jayakrishnan has over 20 years of industry experience including embedded system design and software development for instrumentation, power control, processor design, SDK design, video compression, inertial navigation, and robotics. Beginning his career as instrumentation engineer,he personally developed a unique and successful instrument for hearing and vision sensitivity graphing. At Cochin University, he designed and developed a 12 DOF hexapod and a unique tripod autonomous wall-climbing robot. At Grentel Technologies, he has been responsible for the development of microprocessor based inverter and status monitoring system for uninterrupted power supplies.
At G4matrix Technologies - a multimedia processor company, his duties included the modeling and simulation of multimedia processors, software debugger development and platform validation using DSP algorithms. He also has expertise in the JVT H.264 video codec standard. At G4matrix, he designed and developed a disassembly tool for ARM and coprocessor instruction bit streams. Working with Tata Elxsi-TVM, Jayakrishnan lead a research project on inertial navigation system design based on MEMS sensors for Epson Robotics, Japan. Before launching ASIMOV Robotics, he was responsible in setting up a new engineering division of Energid India provides software and hardware services for robotics and machine-vision.At Energid, he was responsible for the research development of supportive robotic hardware for the Actin robotic control toolkit. As a part of this effort, He has done the kinematic design and prototyping of 7 DOF and 14 DOF humanoid manipulators. During his career with Energid, he played a key role in the design and development of the second generation humanoid manipulatomanipulators with interactive mode of operation.Jayakrishnan received a degree in Electrical Engineering, from Carmel Polytechnic College,Kerala and graduated from Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), India with a specialization in Electronics & Communication Engineering.
