Dr. Heiney is a fellowship trained orthopaedic traumatologist who holds medical licenses to practice in several States. His training includes the following:

1. Undergraduate: Flinders University, Adelaide Australia and Central Michigan University graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors

2. Post-graduate: University College of London and Wayne State University with a Master in Science and Doctorate of Medicine

3. Orthopaedic Residency: Akron General Medical Center

4. Fellowship: San Diego, California in Orthopaedic Traumatology with the Orthopaedic Trauma and Fracture Specialists and University of California, San Diego. He then returned to the Midwest and took an orthopaedic job at a level-1 orthopaedic trauma center as both a leading orthopaedic traumatologist and general orthopaedic surgeon. Presently, he is CEO and President of Cutting Edge Orthopaedics, LLC. His practice scope includes difficult trauma, wound care, spine, hand, joints, sports medicine, foot and ankle surgery. He continues to publish in well respected peer reviewed journals. He has also been the principal investigator for 3 national studies. He has extensive public speaking experience from years of instructing, teaching, grand rounds and presenting on numerous medical topics. He currently holds the honor of being North American AO faculty. He is a reviewer for numerous scientific peer reviewed journals. He has received numerous awards and honors in the medical field including being a visiting professor and chairman of instructional courses. Presently, he holds a number of consulting positions in partnership with industry. He is also founder and current president of Jake Heiney, LLC, and Skeletal Solutions, LLC which includes medical consulting and speaking in the former and novel medical devices in the later.
