Dr. Guray Guven earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Hacettepe University (Ankara, Turkey) in 2002 and 2004. He has been working as a Research Scientist at Conductive Technologies Inc., a private company operating as a custom designer, developer, and manufacturer of electrochemical biosensors and printed technologies. He was then awarded a ‘Diploma of Advanced Studies’ degree in Chemical and Process Engineering in 2007 at Rovira i Virgili University (Tarragona, Spain) where he has studied the mammalian cell-electrode integration/interaction in a biofuel cell set-up. After earning his title with his Ph.D. thesis entitled “Electrochemistry of Engineered Enzymes” in Biochemical Engineering at Jacobs University Bremen (Bremen, Germany) in 2010, he has completed post-doctoral training in 2011 at Clarkson University (Potsdam, NY) where he led fabrication of electrochemically controlled drug release systems.
He is working as a lead scientist in multi-disciplinary projects offering sensing devices that are based primarily on electrochemical signal transduction.
Dr. Guven and his co-worker’s research activities have resulted in sensing devices that are used in medical diagnostic, environmental, agricultural, and industrial marketplace.
Dr. Guven had about 15 peer-reviewed journal papers and proceedings. He is the editorial board member of the Biosensors Journal, American Open Biosensors Journal and American Open Electrochemistry Journal. He also serves on several journals including Electrochemistry Communications, Journal of Chemical Technology and Biotechnology, Analytical Methods and Analyst, as being a reviewer.
