Biography

Dr. Guoping Cai is currently an Assistant Professor of Pathology at the Yale University School of Medicine and an Attending Pathologist at the Yale-New Haven Hospital.  He completed his medical education in China and received his pathology residency and cytopathology fellowship trainings at the New York University Medical Center.  Dr. Cai was board certified in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology, and Cytopathology by the American Board of Pathology.  Prior to the current position, he was the faculty member of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

 

Research Interest

Dr. Cai’s research interest includes application of molecular tests to fine needle aspiration biopsy, and diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic significance of molecular alterations underlying pancreatic and lung malignancies.

His expertise includes cytopathology, genitourinary pathology and lung pathology.
