Biography

Dr. George H. Avery  has received his PhD in Health Services Research, Policy and Administration from the Universityof Minnesota in 2005 and a Master&acutes; In Public Administration from the University of Arkansas in 1995. Currently,  he working as an Assistant Professor of Public Health at Purdue University. Prior to returning for his doctorate, he spent over ten years as a chemist, quality assurance officer, and laboratory certification officer with the Arkansas Department of Health. He is serving as an editorial board member or reviewer for several reputed journals like World Health and Medical Policy, the American Journal of Public Health, the Journal of Homeland Defense and Emergency Management, and the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice. He/she has authored twenty book chapters, esearch articles, and monographs. He is a member of Academy Health, the Academy of Political Science, the American Society for Public Administration, the American Public Health Association, Pi Alpha Alpha Honorary in Public Administration, and the Alpha Chi Sigma chemistry fraternity. He has served as a member of the Advisory Board for the Academy Health Public Health Systems Research Interest Group, on the  Indiana Rural Emergency Medical Services Task Force, the Regulatory Coordination Committee sections.
