Biography

Dr. Sarno as the Head of the Leprosy Laboratory at FIOCRUZ, a Reference Center for Leprosy, she is the coordinator of the research projects developed in the Leprosy Laboratory and is responsible for the conduction of clinical and pathogenic studies performed in the Out-Patient Unit which give support to the National Control Program. Dr. Sarno has been working for several years in the pathogenesis of leprosy with relevant contributions to understanding of this disease. She has published 234 articles in scientific journals.
