In the academic year 1984/85 Degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Catania. In the academic year 89/90 Degree in Medicine at the University of Catania, obtained with honors discussing the experimental Thesis: "The biological characteristics of solid tumors of the nasopharynx. In 1993/94 Specialization in Otolaryngology at the 'University of Catania, achieved with full honors experimental thesis "Overexpression of p53 protein in laryngeal carcinomas”. In 1990 she won a research grant of the 'Department of Health of the Sicilian Region, for a project, entitled "Biological characterization and mode of growth of tumors of the head and neck. Experimental models of chemotherapy and possibilities of clinical applications”. In the same year she attended the Laboratory of Cellular Chemotherapy, directed by Prof. BT Hill at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund in London In 1992, on behalf of the University of Catania, held at the Laboratory of Head and Neck Cancer Biology, Department of Otolaryngology, University of Michigan for a scientific research entitled "Role of Prad1 gene in squamous cell carcinomas of the head and neck" In 1993 participates to an agreement for scientific collaboration between the University of Catania and the University of Michigan, approved by the Academic Senate University of Catania. In 1999 winner of a competition for a fellowship for research collaboration at the Department of ENT, University of Catania for a period of four years. In 2000 held at the Laboratory of Head and Neck Cancer Biology, Ann Arbor, Michigan, for a scientific research on "mitochondrial DNA mutations in head and neck cancer”. From 2003 to December 2008 as otolaryngologist at the Garibaldi Hospital Catania. Since November 2008 researcher at the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery of the "Magna Graecia" University of Catanzaro and from 2009 Assistant Professor. Since 2003, international member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery.
