Biography

Dr. Eugene Tunik received my BS in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University (1997) and his PhD in Neuroscience from Rutgers University (2003). Following this, He completed a 3-year post-doc at the Center for Brain Science and Psychology at Dartmouth. Currently, He is a  Assistant Professor of Rehabilitation and Movement Science at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. His earlier work focused on studying the role of the basal ganglia and proprioception in select patient populations such as Parkinson’s disease and proprioceptively deafferented individuals. Currently, He use fMRI, non-invasive cortical stimulation, EEG, and Virtual Reality to study neural mechanisms of recovery in patients with stroke and autism. My work is funded by the NICHD-NIH and the UMDNJ Foundation.
