Biography

I received myPh.Ddegree in Crop Genetics and Breeding from Nanjing Agricultural University, China in 2001. Before joining the Department of Horticulture, Michigan State University as a visiting scholar in 2005, I was a Research scientist and group leader at the Institute of Agribiological Genetics and Physiology, Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences (JAAS), China. I am currently a research professional IIIatthe Center for Applied Genetic Technologies, University of Georgia. My research interests lie in the areas of plant genetics and comparative genomics,in particular my current research is focused on rice-microbe interaction, rice tissue culture, and analyzing transposons in rice and other important crops. I have authored more than 40 journal articles andcurrently serveon the Editorial Board of“Frontier Plant Genetics and Genomics” and “International Journal of Agricultural Policy and Research”.

Research Interest

Plant genetics and comparative genomics in particular my current research is focused on rice-microbe interaction, rice tissue culture, and analyzing transposons in rice and other important crops.
