Research Interest
Longstanding interest in the fundamental biology of angiogenesis in normal growth and development as well as disease. I was fortunate enough to be mentored by one of the leading scientists in this field, Dr. Judah Folkman. I have previously studied the nuclear receptors PPARs and their involvement in the regulation of endothelial cell function. To study the role of PPARs in cancer, I adapted a variety of in vitro and in vivo techniques that permitted us to explore the importance of PPAR pathways in tumorigenesis.
