Biography
Denis Pires de Lima obtained B. Sc. in Pharmacy at Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) – Brazil (1986) and Ph.D. in Science, field of Organic Chemistry, at UFMG (1994). During the Ph.D. program, took two years of fellowship at the University of Alberta (Edmonton – Canada) in the Department of Chemistry. Post-Doctoral position was taken at the University of Liverpool (1998) working with Biotransformation of Organic Compounds under the supervision of Stanley M. Roberts and Andrew J. Carnell. Presently, works as a Full Professor and Research Advisor for masters and doctoral degree programs at the Institute of Chemistry at UFMS.
Research Interest
Synthesis of potential cytotoxic phenolic compounds, phenolic lipids, chemical transformations of bioactive natural products.
