Biography

Christian Napoli is a medical doctor involved in the field of public health and epidemiology and control of infectious disease. After the degree of specialization in “Hygiene and Public Health” at the University of Bari (Bari, Italy) and a course in “Applied Epidemiology” at the CDC /Emory University (Atlanta, USA) he become Assistant Professor of Public Health at the Medical School of University of Bari in 2005. Since the same year, he serves as Medical Doctor at the Complex Operative Unit of “Hygiene Epidemiology and Public Health”, regional hospital “Azienda Sanitaria Policlinico” (Bari, Italy) where in 2008 he become Responsible for “Environmental Health” Unit. At the University of Bari, he teaches “General and Applied Hygiene” at the Medical School and coordinate several Research Projects in the field of Hospital Hygiene, Prevention of Hospital Acquired Infections, Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases, Oral Public Health and Food Hygiene. Since 2011, Dr Napoli is Visiting Researcher at the Italian National Centre for Epidemiology (National Institute of Health, Rome Italy), where he collaborate to the activities of the Legionellosis National Surveillance, Syndromic Surveillance on Migrant Population and of the Epidemiological Surveillance of Emerging Arboviral Infections (West Nile Virus, Dengue and Chikungunya). Since 2012 he is Seconded Researcher at the Italian National Centre for Epidemiology. He is author of more than 75 articles published in national and international journals.
