Dr Bouzid Menaa is a senior scientist RD consultant in nanotechnology and biotechnology He is currently member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and Bioencapsulation Research Group
He has developed extensive research activities with worldwide collaborators in the area of biomolecules encapsulation and adsorption with the design of highly porous bioactive silica-based host matrices for applications in the wide fields of biotechnology, and the studies of biomolecule/surface interactions and protein conformations to design new biocompatible and functional materials for biosensing, drug delivery systems or medical implants applications. His current research also focuses with the design of functionalized nanoparticles (fullerenes and CNTs) as biomarkers for medical applications (diagnostics, theranostic, oncology) and as nano-probes to study the different interactions with biomolecules (biomimetics in-vivo and in-silico: fullerenes and functionalized nanoparticles to probe and to influence the conformation and structures of proteins and enzymes in confined and crowded environment) with collaborators in USA.
