Dr. Bivash Mandal is currently working as a Sr. Research Specialist at Plough Center for Sterile Drug Delivery Systems at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis, TN, USA. He obtained Bachelor of Pharmacy degree and Masters of Pharmacy degree (major in Pharmaceutics) from Jadavpur University, India. He pursued MS degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences with Industrial Pharmacy major from University of Toledo, Ohio, USA. He completed his Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutics from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis, TN, USA. Prior to joining the MS program, he worked as a scientist in the formulation R & D department at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd., India. Dr. Mandal’s research interest includes advanced and novel drug delivery systems including targeted nanomedicines, liposomes, polymeric nanoparticles for the therapy of cancer and infectious diseases, parenterals/injectable and oral solid drug product development, pre-formulation, formulation, parenteral manufacturing, lyophilization, quality by design, analytical method development and validation. He has authored in many scientific peer-reviewed articles, patent application and conference presentations. He serves as the editorial board member and reviewers in many pharmaceutical science journals. In 2014, Dr. Mandal received prestigious “AAPS graduate research award” (sponsored by Bristol-Myers Squibb co.) in formulation design and development.
My research interest includes advanced and novel drug delivery systems, nanomedicines including liposomes, antibody conjugated nanoparticles, polymeric nanoparticles, injectables and oral solid drug product development, pre-formulation, formulation, solubilization techniques, lyophilization, parenteral manufacturing, analytical method development and validation.
