Biography

Dr. Romero-Freire holds a double doctorate Degree with international doctorate mention by the University of Granada (Spain) in Earth Science and by the VU Amsterdam (The Netherlands) in Earth and Life Science (2015). She has done several international exchanges in some of the best research European centers such as the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (UK) or the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium). Currently, she is working as postdoctoral research at the University of Lorraine (France). Her research is focused on soil, water and sediment pollution by heavy metals, As and rare earth elements; the use of bioassays (ISO, OECD) for the study of metal toxicity in natural polluted areas; and the implementation of remediation techniques for polluted soils.
