Dr. Alex Chow has done his Ph.D. Hydrologic Science in The University of California, Davis – 2000. M.S. Hydrologic Science – University of California, Davis – 1998 B.S. Chemistry with minor in Chemical Engineering – University of California, Berkeley – 1994

Research Interest

Halocarbon Biogeochemistry - Evaluating the influences of sea level rise on halocarbon formation, greenhouse gas emissions, and other biogeochemical processes in coastal wetlands and blackwater rivers
• Ecosystem Health - Studying the impacts of climate change and management practices on the characteristics of dissolved organic matter and accumulations of pollutants in ecosystems
• Engineering Application of Humic Substance - Examining photocatalytic and redox properties of natural organic matter and their potential applications in advanced oxidation process and microbial fuel cell
