Dr. Ahmed Lasfar is a Researcher, working on improving the use of Interferon in cancer and determining the mechanisms of resistance to interferon therapy, at the University Hospital Cancer Center, New Jersey Medical School/University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He is a member of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at NJMS/UMDNJ. He has completed his Post-Doctoral training (1999-2002) in the Department of Molecular Genetics, Microbiology and Immunology at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, UMDNJ, under the supervision of Dr. Sidney Pestka (Leader for the approval of IFN use in Clinic, by the FDA in 1986 and the winner of the National Medal of Technology in 2002). Dr. Ahmed lasfar has received a PhD in Immunology from Paris University of Science, France in 1996. He has completed his Master Degree in Rene Descartes University, School of Medicine, France (1992). He received several awards, including two excellence scientific awards from the New Jersey Commission on Cancer Research and one award from the International Society for Interferon and Cytokine Research.
