Veterinary Microbiology is the branch of study mainly focused on microbes that are causing diseases to animals. Veterinary pathology helps in the diagnosis of diseases caused to animals such as dogs, cows, etc. veterinary medicine is widely practiced by pathologist for the wellbeing of animals. It also helps to get the scientific awareness of the transmissible infections that are being transferred from animals to humans and vice versa. The subject has a wide scope in countries such as UK and USA. It is first devised by Eugene Garfield, the founder of the Institute for Scientific Information. The impact factor of a journal is evaluated by dividing the number of current year citations to the source items published in that journal during the previous two years.
