Toxicology is derived from the Greek word toxikos "poisonous". It is a branch of pharmacology which deals with the study of the adverse effects of drugs or chemicals on living organisms. A toxicologist is a scientist or medical personal who are expertized in the study of symptoms, mechanisms, treatments and detection of venoms and toxins; specially the poisoning of people. It also include the studies of the harmful effects of chemical, biological and physical agents in biological systems that produced the extent of harm in living organisms.
A journal is a periodical publication intended to further progress of science, usually by reporting new research. Most journals are highly specialized, although some of the oldest journals publish articles, reviews, editorials, short communications, letters, and scientific papers across a wide range of scientific fields. Journals contain articles that peer reviewed, in an attempt to ensure that articles meet the journal's standards of quality, and scientific validity.
