Rectal cancer refers to the cancer of the rectum, which affects the lower part of the colon that connects to the anus. It is a part which stores formed stools. Causes of Rectal cancer may be Cigarette smoking, Ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease, Genetic alterations, Family medical history, Personal medical history, Age. Treatment depends on how deeply the rectal tissue has been affected, stage of the disease etc. Scholarly peer review is the process of subjecting an author's scholarly work, research, or ideas to the scrutiny of others who are experts in the same field, before a paper describing this work is published in a journal. The work may be accepted, considered acceptable with revisions, or rejected.
