Any disease or lesion caused by the action of microbial toxins. Toxinosis is pathogenesis caused by the bacterial toxin alone; this may not necessarily involv bacterial infection. It can be caused by Staphylococcus, Botulinum, and Clostridium etc species. Clostridium tetani produces tetanus toxin which leads to a fatal condition known as tetanus in many vertebrates and invertebrates.
