The last decade has seen a rapid expansion of genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and other omics studies applied to all areas of biomedical research. High-throughput technologies such as DNA microarray and mass spectrometry (MS)-based proteomics allow generation of large amounts of data from a single experiment. However, high-throughput data are generally of high variation, low reproducibility, noisy, thus analysis and interpretation of the omics data remain challenging and require effective bioinformatics approaches.
