It consists of two Costal regions Red Sea and Persian Gulf and the most of its territories are barren landforms.It consists of two Oases which is followed by spring of ancient fossil water, they are Al-Qateef on the Gulf coast and Al-Hasa (or Al-Ahsa) further inland and next to Qatif lies the metropolitan area of Dammam, Dhahran and Al-Khobar.The lands of Saudi Arabia consists of petroleum and natural gas, natural resources include iron ore, gold and copper.

Saudi Arabia is the world largest Oil Producer and Exporter and is the World’s second largest Country to control the Oil Reserves. Itis listed as G-20 in Major Economy and plays a leading role in OPEC.Its 75% of revenue is generated from Petroleum Sector.4 Million Foreign workers play a main role in the Saudi economy such as the oil and service sectors of the country. Research and technology development are integral to Saudi Arabia’s foresight vision as set out in the National Science, Technology and Innovation Plan (NSTIP). Saudi Arabia is currently considered as the world champion in spending more in research and development. In the past years the total R&D expenditure was increased and it made successful in the recent years.

Saudi Arabia encourage innovation and creativity and to enforce IP rights and spending higher levels of investment in the research and developments. National Science, Technology and Innovation Plan (NSTIP) is the major funding resource for many biochemistry universities. Major Research focus on biochemistry, biotechnology, advanced materials, nanotechnology, information technology, electronics, communication, oil and gas, petrochemicals technology, medical and health, space, energy, environment, agriculture, and construction.
