Autism Spectrum Disorder

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is known as a communication disorder. There is a shared feeling between the mother and the child in terms of the difficulties encountered in ASD. Mothers of ASD children have difficulty understanding their child’s feelings, and as they gradually understand the emotions of their child, the mother and child form a unique bond that leads to understanding . Moreover, mothers acquire coping strategies for raising a child with ASD . Many previous studies have reported the viewpoint of understanding the communication between the mother and the child with ASD. These include the attachment pattern of the child with ASD the relationship between the mother and the child with ASD ; the experience of the mother raising an autistic child; the life of the family of an autistic child; experience of the family, which is a polyphonic narrative ; and how the context of autism shapes maternal meaning-making and subjectivity . However, no study has attempted to understand the change in qualitative levels of the context in communication between a mother and a child with ASD. Moreover, no study has affirmed a nursing care practitioner’s recognition of mother-child communication. In this paper, we focus on determining the qualitative levels of shared context between a mother and her child with ASD.
