Biography

Tsungai Chipato, MD has focused his research interests to encompass clinical obstetric interventions, contraceptive technology, HIV in pregnancy, the relationship of HIV and Hormonal Contraception and Interventions to prevent HIV acquisition. He is Principal Investigator of the University of Zimbabwe – UCSF HIV prevention trials unit and Co Principal Investigator of the University of Zimbabwe Pediatric HIV Clinical Trials Unit. Early in the HIV epidemic, and was PI of study of HIV disease in pregnant mothers in Harare Zimbabwe.
