Biography

Syed Babar Ali is a Pakistani philanthropist and business leader, a former Minister of Finance, and a great champion of higher education as an instrument of social equity and national development. On the strength of his international and business connections, and his personal generosity, he founded in 1984 what is today one of the preeminent universities in Pakistan, the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).
