Biography

Steve obtained his M.D. and Ph.D. at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He is a Pediatric Hematology/Oncologist with about 25 years of experience in cancer drug development. Steve is currently Professor at the Institute for Drug Development at UT Health San Antonio.  He was previously Chief Medical Officer, Senior Vice President, and Member of the Executive Committee at ILEX Oncology where he led ILEX’s successful development of clofarabine (Clolar™) and guided that product through a successful ODAC and FDA approval.
